Crash victim taken to hospital

A WOMAN had to be cut from her car and taken to hospital after a collision involving another vehicle on the A417 this morning (Tuesday).

The accident happened just before 8.30am on the Swindon bound carriageway south of the Burford Road junction.

Firefighters took one hour to release the woman from her car before she was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon where she was treated for injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Although the inside lane of the dual carriageway had to be closed traffic was moving freely around the accident scene.
