Cirencester and District Football League round-up

THE two leading teams in Division One of the Cirencester and District League, Tetbury and Taverners Reserves, both recorded easy 5-0 wins to consolidate their positions at the top.

Ashton Keynes, last season's Division 2 winners, have adapted well to life in Division 1.

For after beating Railway Inn, the team they beat to last season's Division 2 title, 3-1, they are now occupying third place.

Eastcombe have also crept up to fourth after a 3-0 win at basement team Ampney United.

In Division 2, leaders Purton B made it nine wins out of ten to maintain their eight-point lead.

This time, it was newcomers RDS Reserves who were seen off 5-2.

In all, the top four all won with Wanderers staying in second spot ahead of Tetbury goal difference.

Fairford Town A are also beginning to climb up the table after an indifferent start.

Top scorers of the day were Minety Reserves who hit double figures against CHQ Reserves who remain rooted to the bottom.

The next two weeks see many of the leagues teams in Cup action with Round 2 of the Mills-Roberts Cup followed by Round 2 of the GFA County Cups.
