NEWLY crowned British Rally Champion Ladies' Cup winner Shelly Taunt will this weekend be competing in the final round of the championship, the South of England Tempest Rally.
This event, which is being held in and around Aldershot, will be using the forest tracks in Yateley Wood.
The rally will also be using Rushmoor Arena for a spectator stage which is adjacent to Pegasus Village and where the service park for all the crews will be held.
The service area will be providing a rally show, trade stands and corporate entertainment and is a good viewing area of the mile long stage that will run three times during the day.
Shelly's Silverstone Rally School, Guest and Fiore Bricklayers, Creative Block Paving, Advanced Sign Factory, Rapid Hire, Mintex and Silkolene-backed crew are looking forward to the event.
Despite it being the nearest one to home, Shelly, from Highworth, who will have Croydon's Bob Stokoe alongside her as co-driver, hasn't really competed in it before.
For although the pair entered last year in the Ford KA, they were forced to retire on stage three with a blown engine.
Their Nissan has been a good car, despite a non-finish on the recent Trackrod Rally in Yorkshire when the rear radius arm broke.
With some hard work put in by her mechanic-partner and sponsor Gordon, everything has been fixed and the car is ready to go.
Shelly has again been nominated for the Nations Cup to drive for England.
The rally starts with the first car leaving the ramp at 8am on Sunday morning and the first competitor is due to finish on the podium around four o'clock on Sunday afternoon.
