CIRENCESTER men's 1st XI got off to a real flyer last weekend with an overwhelming 10-0 victory in their first South Wales North Division Two league game over a strong Bristol side.
Five goals each half resulted in a ten-goal haul and keeper Webb's first clean sheet for four seasons and should put Town top of the table.
Paine was awarded man of the match for his record-equalling six goals. The remaining four were scored by Si Dicker making his league debut up front.
The result was never in doubt as Cirencester were three goals up after ten minutes.
A 15-minute sabbatical saw Town relinquish some of their control which was soon regained in the run-up to half-time.
In a change at half-time, debutant Rob was replaced by Willit.
Soon after the restart, it was business as usual and Paine and Dicker were rampant in their hunger for more goals.
With 20 minutes to go, Harvey was replaced by Tasker on the right midfield and a further three goals were added in the last 15 minutes.
Despite avoiding relegation last season, Town have a point to prove this time around as an unplanned league restructure effectively relegated them.
