FEATURED in Cirencester's Wetpaint Gallery this summer are the latest colourful prints by Sir Terry Frost RA, one of Britain's most successful and highly acclaimed artists.
Born in 1915, Terry discovered his artistic talent during the four years he spent as a prisoner in the Second World War.
On his return to England he studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, enjoying the flourishing artistic scenes of London and St Ives.
By the late 1950s he had become established as an abstract painter, exhibiting regularly in London and throughout the world.
Printmaking has always played a key role in Terry's work. For him, painting and printing are inseparable, with one medium creating ideas for the other.
In 1974 Terry moved permanently to Newlyn in Cornwall, where his love of the region has proved a rich source of inspiration for much of his work.
"We have had a terrific response to the Frost prints since we opened the exhibition in June.
Some buyers collect Frost's work, while others are simply attracted by his bold use of colour and striking compositions.
Since his work is consistently increasing in value, it's a great way to make an investment as the returns are both aesthetic and financial," said Celia Wickham, owner of the Wetpaint Gallery.
The exhibition continues until September 14. Gallery opening times, Thursday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
