THE next Lunchtime Live concert, which will be given in Cirencester Parish Church on Monday, September 15 at 1pm, will consist of music by Barsanti, Fulton and Gregson played by Elizabeth Lester on the recorder and Teresa McIver on the piano.
What is unusual about this concert is that Elizabeth is only 13 and is in Year 9 at Kingshill School.
She passed her Grade 8 recorder exams at the age of nine and two years later was awarded honours in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama performance diploma, entitling her to use the letters GSMD(P Hons) after her name.
This was the first time the qualification, usually sat by university entrants, was awarded to someone so young.
Elizabeth studies with Christopher Ball in London and also plays flute and piano.
Admission to Lunchtime Live is free, with a retiring collection.
