CIRENCESTER Town ladies ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Oldland Abbotonians in last weekend's pre-season friendly.
The game started evenly enough with neither side carving out a real clean chance.
In the first 15 minutes, Town started to gain the advantage with excellent passing through midfield from Chrissy Dudman, Mandy Brown and Lucy Vickers.
The first goal came from an interception at the back from Town defender Emily Jarvis, the ball falling to Joey Clarkson who finished from ten yards.
A second goal quickly followed when, straight from a free kick on the left-hand touchline, Chrissy Dudman curled the ball over the keeper.
In the second half, Cirencester took control but still missed some good chances.
Goal number three came from a Joey Clarkson cross which an unmarked Lisa Hill finished off with an excellent, close-range header.
More pressure led to a fourth in the closing minutes. A Joey Clarkson shot was blocked by the Oldland keeper and Chrissy Dudman was there to slot into an empty net.
It was a good start to a promising season with debuts from Leanne Crosier-Davis, Kirsty Knowles, April Warriner and an excellent outing by Lucy Vickers.
There were solid performance from Linda Weaven, Emily Jarvis and Lynne Bradbury-Frape, but Chrissy Dudman just shaded player of the match.
On Sunday, Cirencester ladies travel to Tetbury for a local derby in their first league game of the season, kick off 2.30pm.
Anyone interested in playing should go along to training at the Corinium Stadium on any Wednesday evening at 7pm or contact Paul on 01285 654388.
