DO you want to lead a healthier lifestyle?
If the answer is yes then why not join a new, free course which is being supported by Ten Ton Challenge organisers.
Health for Life will help anyone over the age of 16 to become more aware of a healthy lifestyle through safe exercise and fitness.
It is being run by David McKinnon from Elite Personal Training, in partnership with Cirencester College.
He said: "Health For Life allows you to benefit from the latest techniques and best practice in exercise and fitness studies.
"The course, which takes approximately 12 weeks to complete, is for any fitness level, and it contains three programmes with an assessment at the end of each programme."
Members will learn about key factors affecting fitness, healthy eating to support fitness goals, the long term benefits of exercise on the body, how to plan safe exercise sessions, how to avoid exercises that may cause injury, how to complete a personal fitness profile and how to design a fitness programme to meet fitness goals.
Mr McKinnon added: "Health for Life is an excellent resource for helping you achieve your fitness goals and at the same time allowing you to gain a qualification free of charge."
College tutors will provide advice and guidance, but members do not need to attend college to complete the course.
Anyone who wants further information can call Mr McKinnon on 01285 640644.
The Ten Ton Challenge is helping to raise funds for Cirencester Hospital.
The target is £22,400 target, which equals ten tons. This will be added to other funds being raised for a £120,000 digital x-ray machine.
So far 677lbs have been pledged. More men and women across the district are being urged to take up the challenge, even if it's to lose as little as 2lb.
Remember, for every 1lb lost at least £1 will go to the hospital. Every penny counts. Le Spa Health and Fitness Club still has four free memberships available for anyone taking part in the challenge.
To obtain the membership you must enter a free prize draw.
For more information contact the club on 01285 648728.
The challenge is being organised by Re/Max Property and Lady Apsley of Cirencester Park, with support from CMC Media and the Standard.
