Team T chalks up an angling hat-trick

TEAM T has chalked up a tremendous hat-trick by winning the John Telling Team Challenge three years on the trot.

There was further success for the team this year with Mick Telling winning the individual.

Results as follows: Team T 66 points, Golden Cross 47, SCAC Blue 44, Best of the Rest 41, WBAC Allsorts 38, SCAC Red 30.5, Not So Young Ones 30, Abbey Lake AC 26.5.

Dates for your diary: Team T team (Sunday, August 24) on Kennet and Avon canal at Brimslade: Mick Telling (capt), Chris Telling, Arthur Hicks, Andy Barlett, Bob Alway, Simon Jones, Stevie Broadhurst, Paul Thomas. JT Rose Bowl at Bourton-on-the-Water is on Sunday, September 14 (not September 13). Names to Andy as soon as possible please.

JTMT presentation evening is being held at the Golden Cross on Saturday, September 20, at 8pm.

Abbey Lake AC WITH club records already broken in the first two club matches this season, Abbey Lake Angling Club members anticipated more of the same in the annual adult/ junior Roach Cup.

Drawn on peg one, Clive Barton, who produced a winning weight of roach with 14lb 7oz, set a record at the same time by exceeding the one established by Andy Bartlett just weeks ago.

In second spot with 11lb 4oz was Matt Greaves and Andy with 10lb 6oz was third. The winner of the Junior Roach Cup was Matthew Brett with 1lb 13oz.

Abbey Lake is holding a juniors open at the lake on Sunday, September 7, for those aged 16 or under on the day.

Entry fee is £3 and there are excellent prizes on offer. All entrants will receive a prize. Draw at 8am, fish 9am-2pm.
