DEAD Ernest Theatre Company returns to the stage with its own unique interpretation of John Godber's darkly satirical play Bouncers and it comes to Brewery Arts Theatre, Cirencester on Friday, August 15 at 7.30pm.
Stroud's newest amateur theatre group performed to sellout houses at the Fringe Festival last year and most recently delighted a packed Subscription Rooms, taking on this demanding play with a relish and verve that delighted both audience and press.
Bouncers delves into the dim, seedy world of the night club and introduces a menagerie of characters who inhabit it.
With minimal use of lighting, and sympathetic, sometimes poignant musical accompaniment, Dead Ernest Theatre Company gives a hilarious portrayal, tinged with a subtle helping of social comment.
"We have had a wonderful response from the Stroud public on each occasion the play has been performed.
"It's a play we really enjoy and we really wanted to take on the challenge of a new and relatively unknown audience.
"The cast is particularly looking forward to playing at the Brewery Arts Centre and feel that the play will lend itself perfectly to the arena," said director Gavin Hurley.
Tickets from the box office on 01284 655522.
