All star cast in Du Maurier adaption

IT'S a fatal family affair.

Families can be wonderful and wearing at the best of times. When all is well they run like a well-oiled machine.

But what happens when one cog is removed? Suspicions run amok when a family member dies in My Cousin Rachel which is at the Everyman until Saturday, August 2.

This classic period drama has been adapted from the popular novel by Daphne Du Maurier and features an all star cast including Beatie Edney (Highlander films, Frost and Dressing for Breakfast), Andrew Lynford (Simon Raymond in Eastenders) and Bruce Montague (Leonard in Butterflies).

My Cousin Rachel is a superb story, packed with suspicion, intrigue and romance.

Philip and Ambrose are cousins by birth but more than that in life - Ambrose has been a friend, father and brother to Philip.

When Philip receives a letter from Ambrose, who lives in Florence, expressing grave suspicions about his new wife Rachel, Philip immediately travels to his cousin's aid.

But when Philip arrives in Italy he finds Ambrose dead and no sign of the mysterious Rachel. Philip returns to England convinced that she is responsible for the death of his cousin but unable to prove a thing.

The story takes another spectacular twist when Rachel arrives in Cornwall and seeks a meeting with Philip. To his utter amazement he finds himself falling in love with the woman he previously thought to be a killer.

One small event after another causes Philip to find himself in utter turmoil as he struggles to find out whether Rachel is a scheming murderess or a misunderstood and maligned woman.
