It's as simple as ABC for Malmesbury boxer Sam

MALMESBURY ABC finished the season in winning style last Saturday when they travelled to Southampton.

With bouts for four other boxers falling through at the last moment, it was left to young prospect Sam Jenner to fly the flag for the Wiltshire club - and he did not disappoint.

Facing local boy Josh Bowers, Jenner showed skills beyond his years in effortlessly avoiding his opponent's punches and neatly scoring with counters from both hands.

Stepping up the pace in the second, Jenner began landing his combinations and seemed to score whenever he threw the jab and crossed his right hand.

The Southampton south-paw came under more pressure in the final round and was caught by an eye-catching uppercut in his own corner as the bout came to an end with Jenner picking up the points decision.
