THE Festival Players Theatre Company is presenting an evening of 'music, magic and mayhem' this summer, as it performs Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors around the region in its 17th year of touring theatre.
And it is coming to Poulton House, near Cirencester on Saturday, June 14.
The play is one of Shakespeare's funniest farces. Two sets of identical twins, separated from birth, end up in the same town on the same day, creating a hilarious combination of intrigue, confusion, misunderstanding and mistaken identity.
With a cast of seven, the players are used to doubling up on parts but this is a huge comic challenge for them.
Petros Emanual plays both Antipholus twins and Peter Gardiner the Dromios, Adriana is played by Jasmine Darke and the cast is headed by director Michael Dyer, fresh from directing a sell-out production of The Mikado at The Swan Theatre, Stratford.
The music, as always, is composed and directed by Gloucestershire's own Johnny Coppin, one of Britain's best known singer-songwriters.
The Comedy of Errors is at Nature In Art, Twigworth, Tewkesbury on Sunday, June 8 at 6.30pm Tickets from Gloucester TIC on 01452 421188 and Tewkesbury TIC on 01684 295027 or from 01452 731422.
It moves to the Rococo Gardens in Painswick on June 11 and 12.
Tickets from Stroud TIC on 01453 765768 and from 01452 813204 before coming to Poulton House on June 14 at 8pm.
Tickets from 01285 851237 or Cirencester TIC on 01285 654180, and to Beaudesert School, Minchinhampton on June 19 (01453 884570).
Any sets of twins who wish to go to the performances at Nature in Art or the Rococo Garden are entitled to two tickets for the price of one.
