THE junior section of Cirencester Athletics Club enjoyed another successful day at this year's Gloucestershire County Championships held on Sunday.
Things, however, got off to a disappointing start as Tom Hill was forced off the track in the U17 800m when well positioned and looking to set a new personal best around the two-minute mark.
Mike Magowen performed well in the U15 long jump in difficult, blustery conditions to finish fifth. Nonetheless, it was not long before Cirencester's first medals.
In the U17 men's triple jump, Tom Skelton won bronze and then saw his team mate Dan Jenvey set a new personal best of 12.31m to win gold.
At the same time, Graham Hulbert cleared 1.55m in the U17 men's high jump to win silver.
There was even better news later when Graham, with a leap of 5.82m, won gold in the long jump.
Completing a fine day for the club's up-and-coming youngster was Becky Harwood who won gold in the women's U17 triple jump.
Two of the Cirencester contingent to added to the medal haul.
First Jenny Manners won bronze in the U15 girls' 1500m, setting another personal best of just under six minutes, and was followed just moments later by Ellie Puddifoot who was crowned County Champion in the same event for U13 girls.
But the all-round performance of the day was claimed by Liam Fraser in the U13 boys' events.
For after setting new personal bests in the 100m and long jump, Liam won the silver medal in the shot putt with a throw of 4.17m.
