Fairford artist's work to show in London

FAIRFORD artist Jake Sutton has had one of his portraits chosen to hang at the prestigious Royal Society of Portrait Painters' Annual Exhibition which takes place at the Mall Galleries, London, from May 2-18.

Jake Sutton is one of Britain's leading contemporary painters. He won a children's national painting competition at the age of seven and went on to study at St Martin's School of Art, London.

He has regularly exhibited in London since 1979 and has had many successful one-man shows in West End galleries as well as exhibiting at the Royal West of England Academy and the Royal Watercolour Society, London.

In addition, he has painted posters for the Bath Festival of Music and for the London Underground, sketched musicians at work at the BBC Proms and painted scenes of London which hang in the House of Commons.

He has designed stamps for the Royal Mail, painted scenes from the Moscow State Circus which were purchased by the Victoria & Albert Museum and for the last 18 months has been painter of the Royal Opera House Collection in Covent Garden.
