John experiences a busy evening's shooting

CIRENCESTER and District Air Rifle and Pistol League chief instructor John Hall had a busy time at the Corn Hall on Monday evening.

Nonetheless, he was pleased to offer some sound advice to four new members, including the son of Ian Franklin who used to shoot in the league.

These young lads were very patient and Mark Smith will make up another rifle shooting aid for next Monday, which should help greatly.

In the Batten and Allen Pistol competition, Mark Smith came good to beat Liam Tucker into second place, scoring 176 to 171.

In third was Harry Wills with 162 and fourth was D J Franklin (161). In the Keith Passant U16 Pistol cup, Ross Hayward shot 66 while the Tony Wright Air Rifle cup tie was won South Cerney ace-shot Paul Swanston who scored 194. Results as follows:
