SPLASHES of colour are set to brighten the winter days at Cirencester's 'wetpaint gallery' with the launch of Spirit of Place, its third exhibition since it opened in September.
Contemporary paintings, works on paper and ceramics will be exhibited by seven artists, each giving their individual response to places or cultures which have inspired them.
Artists include the late Paul Hogarth OBE RA, one of the most distinguished illustrators of our age and widely regarded as one of Britain's foremost artist travellers.
His collection of lithographs and screenprints were inspired by his extensive travels in the footsteps of DH Lawrence and Lawrence Durrell.
Based in the historic 'Old Chapel' on London Road, the gallery is a subsidiary of Contemporary Art Holdings, a corporate art consultancy with over ten years experience in providing artworks for offices.
This service has now been extended into the domestic market and includes one-to-one consultations in homes around the South West.
"We are all very pleased with the way the gallery is developing and are happy to be playing a more significant role in the local community. We hope that more people will come to recognise and enjoy the benefits of having colourful artwork in the home and workplace," said director Celia Wickham.
The exhibition continues until March 29 and the gallery is open from Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
