AN improved Cirencester B team were pipped by a mere two goals after just failing to overcome their Gloucester rivals.
Although it proved an netball exciting match, the Town were disappointed to have lost it 41-43.
The game started with the two teams equally matched with were boasting ten goals apiece after the first quarter.
Town's defence welcomed the return of Andrea North (GD) to the team after injury and, together with Lorna Irwin (GK) and Kate Mackinnon (WD), they worked well together.
Two goals ahead at the interval, the only change to Cirences-ter B saw Lisa Talintyre brought on as WD for the second half.
The centre court players of Claire Wood (WA) and Karen Briars (C) worked hard together to get the ball to Rachel Keating (GA) and Sarah Smith (GS) who both showed their skills with excellent shooting.
It brought the Town side some well earned goals in an evenly contested affair that put the score at 32-31 to Cirencester after the third quarter.
After this, the hosts pulled out all the stops and fought for every goal in the final quarter before going three goals ahead.
Despite valiant attempts by Town's defence, the visitors snatched victory by the margin of those two goals. Karen Briars was Cirencester player of the match.
