OXFORDSHIRE Touring Theatre Company (OTTC) joins forces with one of the country's leading mask theatre companies - Trading Faces - to bring you the strange and wonderful world of The Little Prince which is being staged at the Sundial Theatre, Cirencester College at 8pm on Tuesday, January 28.
It tells the story of a pilot who crash lands in the middle of the Sahara Desert where he meets a little prince, a boy on a quest from another world.
A beautiful, funny and philosophical tale, the story is told using mask, original music and puppetry.
Audiences will be sent on a fantastic journey as the Little Prince tells poetic and magical stories about his tiny home planet and how he made his way to earth.
Directed by Tony Davies, Trading Face's co-artistic director, and designed by their long time collaborator Philip Engleheart, this is the first time the two companies have collaborated, even though they regularly share ideas and only live seven miles apart.
Jeremy James, OTTC's artistic director, says of the collaboration: "This is a wonderful opportunity for OTTC's audience to experience a new form and style of performance, the mask work will really transport our audiences to other world, literally in the case of the Little Prince's adventures."
This classic tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupery is being adapted by Clive Holland who has worked previously with OTTC as both writer and actor. Box office: 01285 654228 or via boxoffice@cirencester.ac.uk. Opening hours Monday-Friday 10am-noon and 12.30-3.30pm and one hour before each performance.
