Red Shift theatre company comes to the Sundial Theatre

THE talented and innovative Red Shift theatre company brings its latest production, The Love Child, to the Sundial Theatre at Cirencester College on Monday, December 16 at 8pm.

After the death of her mother, Agatha Bodenham is left empty and alone. She withdraws from life, absorbed by memories of her childhood, and finds herself increasingly attracted to the spirit world.

Then an unearthly young girl arrives and teaches Agatha to live again. They become inseparable and Agatha will go to any lengths to keep it that way.

Having captivated audiences across the country with hugely popular productions of Hamlet: first cut, Nosferatu and Nicholas Nickleby, Red Shift add a chilling dimension to Edith Olivier's bewitching novella.

It's a hypnotic story that delves into the power of the human imagination, madness and the supernatural.

The Love Child is directed by Jonathan Holloway and designed by Neil Irish, with music by Jon Nicholls whose scores draw on influences as diverse as Debussy and roaring twenties dance music.

It also marks Red Shift's move towards the use of digital technology as an intrinsic part of the design, which will incorporate cine film and projection.
