TERRY Pratchett's popular Discworld novel Carpe Jugulum comes to The Playhouse Theatre, Cheltenham from July 20-27 in a stage adaptation by Stephen Briggs.
The de Magpyrs are the sort of vampires that make Count Dracula look like a blast from the past.
Modern, forward-looking and no longer afraid of holy water, daylight, garlic, religious symbols or anything else, they are very, very dangerous. Discworld is in big trouble, but luckily the three Lancre witches are on hand to restore order - and the battle is on.
Carpe Jugulum is fast-moving, funny and ingenious.
This battle of good-versus-evil, witches-versus-vampires, adapted by Stephen Briggs with dramatic panache, has a labyrinthine plot full of quirky and original characters.
It's a treat for Discworld fans and uninitiated theatregoers alike.
Tickets from the box office on 01242 255852.
