TV's Jeremy to visit Kemble Air Day

DESPITE famously being sick in one, TV bad boy Jeremy Clarkson will prove that he still cannot resist the allure of fighter planes when he visits Kemble Air Day this weekend.

The former Top Gear presenter is hoping to be one of around 15,000 spectators at Sunday's show.

Jeremy was filming a video at Kemble Airfield this week when he learned that one of the open day's star attractions will be an F-16 Fighter Falcon.

His eyes lit up at the news, despite the fact that one of Jeremy's most embarrassing TV moments shows him being unable to stomach a flight in a similar plane, an F-15.

The episode was screened as part of the BBC show Jeremy Clarkson's Extreme Machines in 1998.

"I'm definitely coming," said the father-of-three, whose show Jeremy Clarkson Meets the Neighbours is currently being screened on BBC Two.

"My two daughters have got birthday parties to go to but it'll be nice to bring my boy down."

Jeremy, whose son Finlo is six, has hosted a string of successful TV shows and lives in Chipping Norton near Stow-on-the-Wold.

He was at Kemble this week to film Jeremy Clarkson, No Limits - a video guaranteed to terrify driving instructors.

"It's about driving very fast and smashing things up," he said.

While Jeremy posed for photographers in front of a Piper Warrior plane, the cement was drying around a speed camera which had been specially installed nearby.

"I'm going to attach a chain to it and pull it out of the ground in a Range Rover, he said.

"It's something I've always wanted to do!"

Another attraction at the air day is the Folland Gnat, and there will also be a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight featuring a Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster.

The Red Arrows will also be there, and visitors will witness the debut wingwalk by 24-year-old Marie Duguid from Cirencester.

Gates open at 9.30am and there will be trade stands, static displays, a fun fair, flight simulators and quad bikes.

Tickets are available in advance from local visitor information centres at £12 (adults) and £6 (children and OAPs). Prices on the gate are £15 (adults) and £10 (children and OAPs).

Jeremy's video, the sixth in a series filmed at Kemble, is due out in November.
