Cirencester Ladies 1sts 2 - 0 Civil Service
Cirencester showed their strength in depth on Saturday, when missing several regular players, Lynsey Neale and Natalie Ledger moved up from the 2nds and played a full part in beating Civil Service.
Cirencester had the vast majority of the play, but the Service keeper has one of the best defensive records in the league. It took two fine individual goals to break the deadlock. In the first half Bryony Oliff-Lee scored from a seemingly impossible angle on the byline, whilst in the second half it was the turn of captain Trudi James.
Town won the game by virtue of a good team display, working together to deny Service any time on the ball. The defence supported the forwards and midfield well, preventing any chance of a Service breakaway. Many further chances were created, and another goal was disallowed since the umpire blew for a corner just before the ball went in.
