MIRACLE Theatre of Falmouth, Cornwall, brings its own version of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night to Brewery Arts on Saturday, March 2.
The company brings the Bard's 'improbable fiction' to the boil, distilling this most-loved comedy into an intoxicating brew of midsummer madness and whirligig humour, yet not forgetting the romantic content.
Bill Scott has shortened the original play to 90 minutes and cunningly re-arranged it for a cast of five. The compression is almost invisible, the cuts hard to spot and the play's original language, themes and story appear only to have benefited from the treatment. The performers make it their business to squeeze out every drop of humour from the script while never shying away from the more romantic and darker moments.
The play's colourful, lively, musical tone makes it suitable for all ages, including children as young as six years old.
Tickets from the box office on 01285 655522.
