Search for town hero

THE SEARCH is on in Fairford for an outstanding resident who has given a boost to community life.

The town council's Citizen's Award is presented each year to someone who has devoted more than their fair share of time and effort to community events.

Nominations should be dropped into the town council's London Street office by March 1.

The winner will receive a gift of their choice worth up £100, which will be presented at the annual town meeting in April.

Last week's town council meeting heard that no nominations had been received yet.

There were five nominations for last year's award, which was won by Cirencester Road resident Peter Yells.
