Magical theatre for kids

SNAP Theatre company brings The Pied Piper to The Arts Centre in Swindon on Thursday, February 28.

This new and funny piece of children's theatre is based on the traditional tale by Robert Browning, with a message that is as contemporary and important as ever.

The people of Hamelin have corrupted their world through a combination of greed and materialism, but are given the chance to put things right when a mysterious stranger saves them from a plague of rats.

Weakness and greed put them as risk when they go back on their contract with the piper who takes his revenge by whisking all the children away into the mountain.

Only one young lad cannot follow and is left behind.

The exciting story of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" is brought to life in this production which is suitable for 6-11 year olds and adults too.

It is an ideal opportunity to introduce children to the magic of theatre by a leading touring company which brings drama to more than 100,000 young people every year.

The show lasts 90 minutes including the interval.
