Water park development gets go-ahead

A LAKESIDE development with holiday accommodation, a sailing club and boat house has been given the green light by Cotswold District Council's planning committee.

Applicants Watermark Ltd plan to build 58 holiday lodges, a car park and new sailing club house and boat house at lake 16, Spine Road, South Cerney.

South Cerney Parish Council opposed the application saying the new boat and club house would be visible from houses at Kingfisher Place.

They added: "This will amount to an unprecedented encroachment of the 'holiday lodges resort' into the actual village."

But CDC planners said they were satisfied the scheme, which had been revised, was acceptable.

Members agreed to permit the application subject to the completion of an amended legal agreement.
