I was the guest of the Walsh family for three weeks in 1979 during a language stay. Mrs Walsh (as I called her then, being twelve, and as she signed her letters) was one of the most gentle persons I ever met on this Earth. I fondly remember our evening discussions with her husband Dean and her two sons Darren and Damian, the laughters at the diner table or watching TV. The way she carefully prepared my lunch box every day with club sandwiches and sweet treats for the day, her daily reminder "Your back hair !" after I routinely combed just the half that was visible in the mirror, the time I had her repeat ten times "airmail" and finally show me an airmail envelope because I couldn't understand the word in English pronunciation. I got mugged one evening by local hooligans, and in the absence of my parents, she was the one who took me to the physician and police, then walked me the next days to the bus stop to make sure I would stay safe.
My condolences to all her family for such a terrible loss. I hope she rests in peace. Goodbye Mrs Walsh, and thank you.
