CIRENCESTER RFC head coach Kevin Powderly described his side's next two fixtures as 'must-win' games if they are to maintain their push for promotion from Gloucester Premier.
After an unbeaten start to their season Cirencester have now lost two of their last five matches, including at Hucclecote on Saturday despite dominating the first half.
They are nine points adrift of leaders Stroud who they play on December 20.
"We have two important matches before Christmas – at home to Painswick, who had a much improved result last week, and Stroud, who currently top the table and will be looking for revenge after their defeat at Cirencester early in the season," said Powderly.
"They are must-win games and we now need to have a look at ourselves if we are to challenge for promotion.
"We need to commit more to training to improve fitness and game awareness as well as availability for league fixtures."
