Guernsey Waterfront Marathon
SHONA CROMBIE-HICKS of Bourton Roadrunner travelled to the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon and repeated her success in the 2012 ladies' race.
Shona powered around the undulating coastal route to finish first lady (and third overall) in 2:57.20.
Being a front runner can be a lonely business, as Shona didn't see another rival for the whole race. She was especially pleased to beat the favourite by two minutes.
Thames Meander
STEVE EDWARDS of Bourton Roadrunners ran his 645th marathon at the Thames Meander.
The event follows the Thames Path on an out-and-back riverside route from Kingston-upon-Thames.
Steve was delighted to record 3:14.53 for 1st Vet50 and 12th place overall.
Steve said: "It was a superb event as always and a lovely sunny day along the Thames. It was also great to see so many familiar faces".
It was Steve's 570th sub-3:30 marathon.
